Last week, I wrote about the goal of the second annual Global Creative Leadership Summit to "analyze the impact of globalization on our countries, companies and citizens," and "to identify new solutions that address our more complex lives."
Jaap de Hoop Scheffer
NATO Secretary General
"Borders don't buy you security, deterrence is finished as a defense, and distance is no longer a defense."
"Estonia suffered a major and extremely serious cyberattack. Now you must know that Estonia, of all the 26 NATO allies, is by far the most advanced in IT, in the virtual world. The Estonian cabinet does not have a single piece of paper in front of it. They completely work with their monitors, and no paperwork. But Estonia was attacked. We don't exactly know from where, of course. Shouldn't we think about protecting ourselves better against cybercrime? And what is NATO's role? It's a discussion which is just starting."
