 The unemployment rate in Estonia dropped to 5 pct in the second quarter of 2007, decreasing the most in the country's northeast, the Statistical Office said.

This compares to an unemployment rate of 5.3 pct in the first quarter and 6.2 pct year-on-year.

According to data from the Labor Force Survey, 35,000 were unemployed. The number of unemployed people dropped by 8,000, compared to the second quarter of 2006.
