Estonian information security specialists return from Georgia

TALLINN, Aug 18, BNS - Two Estonian specialists of CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team), who helped their Georgian colleagues in information security issues, returned to Estonia during the weekend.

According to RIA (State Information Systems Development Center) the experts were in Tbilisi from 12 to 16 August.

The aim was give assistance to the Georgian CERT in order to make as many Georgian news portals and government institutions' web sites as possible available to the outside world. As many of the web sites that came under cyber attacks have been transferred into servers throughout the world, the pressure on Georgian servers has declined by the moment.

Also the Polish and French national CERTs helped Georgia starting from the beginning of the cyberattacks on August 8.

The cooperation of Georgian and Estonian specialists will certainly continue also in the future, the RIA spokesman said.

Among other things, Estonia helped to accommodate the Georgian Foreign Ministry servers showing the http://mfa.gov.ge web site.
