Estonia, Kosovo to establish diplomatic ties

TALLINN, Apr 22, BNS - Estonia and Kosovo, which declared its independence just more than two months ago, are about to establish diplomatic ties on Thursday.
The corresponding agreement will be signed in Tallinn by Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet and visiting deputy prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo Rame Manaj, spokespeople for the Estonian Foreign Ministry said.
Manaj and Kosovo's minister of public administration, Arsim Bajram, will visit Estonia later this week.
In a meeting with Estonia's Foreign Minister Urmas Paet on Thursday the development of relations between Estonia and Kosovo, Kosovo's relations with neighboring nations and the situation in the Western Balkans will be talked about.
The Kosovo ministers are also scheduled to meet with Estonia's Minister of Economy and Communications Juhan Parts, Regional Affairs Minister Siim-Valmar Kiisler, chairman of the Estonia-Kosovo parliamentary group Hannes Astok, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry Matti Maasikas and representatives from the e-Governance Academy.
Kosovo declared its independence on Feb. 17 this year. The Estonian government recognized Kosovo's independence on Feb. 21.
