Estonian president to meet with Cheney, Rice on US trip

TALLINN, Apr 17, BNS - Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves has departed on a working visit to the United States, in the course of which he will meeet with US Vice President Richard Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Ilves on Thursday morning flew out from Dublin, after ending his state visit to Ireland, spokespeople for the president said.
Ilves is scheduled to meet with Cheney and Rice on Friday.
On Saturday he will attend a reception of the US-Baltic Foundation in Washington.
From Washington Ilves will proceed to Florida, where he will read a report at the University of South Florida in Tampa and attend a meeting of the Tampa council of world affairs.
The president will also visit the US Central Command and meet with its acting commander, Lt. Gen. Martin Dempsey.
The president will be back in Estonia next Wednesday.
