Estonian president appoints Vaino Reinart ambassador to Canada

TALLINN, Feb 19, BNS - President Toomas Hendrik Ilves signed on Monday a decree on the appointment of Vaino Reinart Estonia's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Canada residing in Washington DC.
The head of state at the same time recalled Ambassador Juri Luik, spokespeople for the president said.
Reinart was appointed ambassador to the United States in June and to Mexico in September. He followed in both these positions Juri Luik who at present serves as Estonia's representative at NATO.
Reinart started work as an adviser at the Foreign Ministry in 1992. In 1994 he became director of the first political office and in 1995 adviser at the political department.
In 1995-99 Reinart was the Estonian envoy to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Vienna, in 1999-2001 he worked as director-general of the Foreign Ministry's political department and was deputy secretary-general for political issues in 2001-02.
In 2002-06 Reinart served as Estonia's ambassador to the European Union in Brussels.
