TALLINN, Feb 07, BNS - Estonian Defense Minister Jaak Aaviksoo, to take part in the NATO defense ministers' meeting in Vilnius, will once again raise the issue of cyberdefense.
The unofficial meeting will focus on on-going operations and NATO's transformation; besides, a separate meeting with Russian and Ukrainian defense ministers has been scheduled, the Defense Ministry informed BNS.
In his speech Aaviksoo will emphasize the importance of developing Afganistani security forces and state structures. At the defense transformation strategy session Aaviksoo will speak about the importance of the development of NATO's reponse forces simultaneously with the difficult ongoing operations.
Also this time the Estonian defense minister will dwell on cyberdefense of which NATO's military structures are currently drawing up a more detailed concept. The aim has been set at an integrated package of cyberdefense recommendations and instructions for the Bucharest summit.
In the weekend following the Vilnius meeting Aaviksoo will also attend a security conference in Munich. On Monday the Defense Minister will speak at the Security & Self Agenda seminar in Brussles on whether cyberspace is becoming the battlefield of the future.
